The decentralized storage network Lambda has entered into a strategic partnership with Conflux with the aim of jointly exploring innovations and commercial applications of NFTs and distributed storage technology. In the near future, they will deploy LWS (Lambda Web3 Service), a decentralized storage service, on the Conflux network.

About Lambda

Lambda is a Web3 infrastructure based on a modular distributed storage network, aiming to provide secure, reliable, and infinitely scalable data storage capabilities and a foundational development platform for NFT value data assets and Web3 applications.

The Lambda team, one of the earliest entrants into this field in China, boasts core members with years of experience in fundamental software development and open-source projects. They played a significant role in founding OneAPM, one of China’s most successful SAAS startups, which handled data volumes in the billions at its peak. The team has also contributed code to several projects under the Apache Foundation, such as Camel, Akka, Druid, and more, with deep expertise in cloud computing and Web3 domains. Lambda’s vision is to drive the development of a decentralized internet and create a genuinely free, secure, and open infrastructure for the value internet.

Since 2018, Lambda has secured funding from over 20 venture capital institutions, including Bitmain, ZhenFund, NGC, exceeding $20 million. In 2019, the Lambda team unveiled the LPDP algorithm, which achieved data integrity proof in distributed storage networks. From 2020 to 2023, the Lambda storage network underwent four upgrades, with the maximum storage capacity surpassing 600 PB. The latest upgrade in April of this year introduced modular enhancements to EVM, storage incentive models, and data integrity verification, realizing the concept of a “modular storage network” and launching the LWS storage service.

What is LWS decentralized storage service?

LWS represents the 3.0 evolution of decentralized storage — a modular storage network designed to offer permanent storage capabilities for any EVM-compatible public chain ecosystem. The LWS storage service adopts a novel modular storage network design that separates the consensus network from the storage network. This allows the storage network to communicate more effectively with smart contracts and enables smart contracts to incentivize storage nodes by issuing ERC20 tokens.

As a multi-chain permanent storage solution, the architecture design of “modular storage” decouples data integrity proof and storage incentive distribution from the consensus network, significantly enhancing the scalability of distributed storage services in a public chain environment.

As a result, the modular storage network will no longer depend on any specific Layer1 blockchain, making it possible to flexibly connect to various blockchain ledgers to leverage future technological advancements, such as higher transaction throughput and lower latency. Importantly, this architecture enables storage services to simultaneously connect to multiple Layer1 blockchains, achieving linear scalability in transaction throughput while meeting the decentralized storage service needs of any blockchain network.

How do users utilize Lambda’s LWS decentralized storage service?

Users can obtain secure and reliable data storage and access capabilities by using the LWS storage network. The security and accessibility of Lambda’s storage service are guaranteed by the Data Integrity Proof (LPDP) algorithm and smart contracts, and user data will be stored within the space provided by storage miners.

Data that is paid to be stored in LWS is considered permanent storage data, and users only need to use LWS links to easily access their data. Additionally, LWS offers an IPFS-compatible data access interface, allowing developers to access data using IPFS SDK or applicable API services.

The integration of LWS with the Conflux network will provide the Conflux ecosystem with a safer and more reliable commercial storage service. Any NFT digital artists, DApp developers, and content creators can store NFT asset data and DApp data files in the Lambda storage network via LWS.

This deep collaboration between Lambda and Conflux will work together to offer improved infrastructure and services for global blockchain application developers and content creators, fostering greater potential for the development of blockchain business applications.

About Conflux

Conflux is a permissionless Layer 1 blockchain connecting decentralized economies across borders and protocols. With a hybrid PoW/PoS consensus, Conflux provides a fast, secure, and scalable blockchain environment with zero congestion, low fees, and improved network security.

As the only regulatory-compliant public blockchain in China, Conflux provides a unique advantage for projects building and expanding into Asia. Conflux has collaborated with global brands and government entities in the region on blockchain and metaverse initiatives, including the city of Shanghai, McDonald’s China, and Oreo.
