This week’s meeting took place during the Hong Kong Web3 Summit, where Lambda played an active role. We believe that the center of the Web3 world has the possibility to partly shift back to the East, and we are committed to gathering more abundant resources and building a more comprehensive ecosystem before greater opportunities arise, in order to prepare for the future of Lambda.
Lambda Founder Shaun8149: 2023 is the Optimal Time to BUIDL
I have already visited Hong Kong for several times since the beginning of the 2023. I caught up with many old friends, including those from different stages of my entrepreneur journeys — friends from my SaaS days, early Lambda days, and many investors. I also met friends from diverse fields who I know through my multiple identities — startup partners, investment acquaintances, and fellow art enthusiasts.
My most vivid impression is that the passion and opportunities for crypto are once again returning to the East. On the one hand, Western regulatory bodies and the public have exhibited varying degrees of skepticism towards the connection between digital currencies and banks, influenced by events such as the Silicon Valley Bank and Credit Suisse Bank incidents. Consequently, the enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and investment has shifted towards AI and AGIC, which have been popular in recent times. On the other hand, Hong Kong not only provides substantial policy support, but it has also revitalized the flow of talent and resources in the Web3 world.
I believe that 2023 presents a remarkable opportunity. We have certainly sensed the enthusiasm and conviction of industry leaders and up-and-coming forces from the Eastern world. Therefore, it is undoubtedly an opportune moment to BUIDL and gather higher-quality resources more easily. With this in mind, Lambda will undoubtedly work harder to construct itself.
Renowned Artist Jimi Wen: I Love Art and the Future of NFTs
I am an independent and NFT artist with works published on platforms such as fxhash and Foundation, and have received positive market feedback. In 2022, my NFT production ranked among the top 0.38% globally, with earnings of 31,220 XTZ. Recently, my 1/1 artwork on Foundation also achieved great success.
However, being an artist is not my only identity. Currently, I am also devoting a significant amount of energy to supporting more emerging artists. I have a personal art fund that provides generative art education and training for many Taiwanese high school students, and curates art NFTs for more Taiwanese college and graduate students.
I am also building a network of art galleries in Taiwan and constantly exploring more collaborative methods. For example, I am currently exploring the combination of textiles, paintings, and NFTs, which I believe will significantly improve market efficiency and introduce more people to the charm and practicality of NFTs.
Since the beginning of this year, I have been collaborating closely with Genify, an art platform in the Lambda ecosystem, to discover and incubate more outstanding Chinese artists. The Genify team and I share a deep understanding and recognition of the fact that the Chinese world possesses a rich, diverse, and longstanding cultural heritage, as well as the capacity to create artistic appeal with digital and computer technologies. At a time when North American and French artists hold significant influence in the art NFT field, it is necessary and possible for us to gather a group of Chinese artists and further bring benefits to more Chinese collectors.
My generative artwork “I CHING-易经待续” was launched on the Genify platform a few months ago and has received support from the Genify community and more collectors.
Recently, I have been designing and developing a 1/1 art platform together with the Lambda team. It will have more sophisticated designs, and I believe it will be loved by many soon. Stay tuned!
